Dustin has extensive experience in both Virginia state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Dustin’s experience is diverse, having litigated a wide variety of issues. But much of his practice focuses on transportation-related litigation.

He has defended small businesses against copyright and trademark infringement claims, and has significant experience serving as local counsel in patent disputes.
His transportation experience includes maritime, railroad, automobile, and trucking cases, including cases involving trucking collisions, ship allisions, cargo damage, crane failures, and other industrial and transportation accidents resulting in property damage, personal injury, and loss of life.
Dustin’s representative experience includes representing a Class I railroad in a wrongful death suit involving a collision between a truck and a train. He has also defended the railroad against personal injury claims by a motorcyclist that the railroad’s crossing caused the cyclist to lose control of his vehicle. Mr. Paul has also counseled one of the nation’s largest company’s on automobile accident issues, including the post-accident handling of a collision that caused a pedestrian’s death.
Dustin’s practice has given him a unique perspective on e-discovery issues and afforded him the opportunity to advise two of the nation’s largest companies on e-discovery issues. And in one particularly contentious case, he has overseen the review and production of approximately 10 million pages and an additional 1.1 TB of technical data from a variety of active and legacy sources.
