Jane Tucker is an attorney in the firm's Business Department. Jane concentrates her practice in intellectual property law, commercial business and real estate transactions, community association law, ERISA and employee benefits matters, and creditors’ rights law. She has earned recognition for her achievements as one of Virginia’s Business’s Legal Elite and Coastal Virginia’s Top Lawyers.
Jane’s intellectual property practice involves trademark and copyright registration, as well as protection, sale and/or licensing of all forms of intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.
Her business practice includes commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions and general business transactions related primarily to closely held entities. Jane also works with community associations on the broad spectrum of legal issues which they face, including drafting and amending documents, board policies, operations and governance issues, foreclosure of assessment liens, and intellectual property issues.
Jane’s ERISA and employee benefits practice concentrates on qualified retirement plans and welfare benefits, particularly in the areas of COBRA, USERRA, and qualified domestic relations orders, with an emphasis on multiemployer plans.
Jane received her B.A. in History from the College of William & Mary and her J.D. from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. She is a frequent speaker on topics related to intellectual property law and is a member of the Intellectual Property Sections of the Virginia Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
As a longtime resident of Virginia, she is involved in a number of community and civic organizations.
