W. Thomas Chappell

Thomas Chappell’s practice focuses on general civil litigation in both state and federal court.  His experience includes representing clients in litigation involving trusts and estates, maritime law, collections and real estate law.  Further, Thomas has a strong background in appellate through his experience as a practicing attorney, as a judicial law clerk for Justice S. Bernard Goodwyn of the Supreme Court of Virginia and as an extern for Judge Roger L. Gregory of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  In addition to his litigation work, Thomas also assists clients with estate planning needs.

Thomas was an accomplished student at the University of Richmond School of Law, where he was a John Marshall Scholar and a member of the Order of the Coif, the McNeill Law Society and the University of Richmond Law Review.  He was also an executive board member of the law school’s Christian Law Fellowship.
