Andrews Named Construction Lawyer of the Year

RICHMOND, VA. Vandeventer Black LLP is pleased to announce that Stephan F. “Hobie” Andrews has been named The Best Lawyers in America’s ® 2013 Richmond Litigation – Construction “Lawyer of the Year.”

Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, and designates “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community receives the honor of “Lawyer of the Year.”

Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2012) is based on more than 3.9 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by their peers.

Andrews concentrates his practice in the fields of Construction Law, Professional Liability, Regulatory Services and Intellectual Property. He represents accountants, architects, engineers, project owners, contractors, and liability carriers in a variety of construction, professional liability, insurance coverage, employment and contract disputes, as well as in other matters. Stephan’s practice is national in scope and includes mediation, arbitration and litigation in state and federal courts.

Andrews obtained a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute, where he received the American Society of Testing and Materials Award for Academic Achievement, and a J.D. from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law.

Vandeventer Black lawyers have provided legal services to businesses nationally and internationally since 1883. The firm has offices in Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia; Kitty Hawk and Raleigh, North Carolina; Pasadena, California; and Hamburg, Germany.
