Franczek Named Chair of Government Construction Division by the American Bar Association

NORFOLK, VA. Vandeventer Black is pleased to announce that William E. Franczek, P.E., a partner in the Construction and Public Contracts Department, was recently selected by the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry to chair its newly formed division on Government Construction. 

The Forum provides a national venue for educational programs and publications focused on the construction industry.  It is the largest organization of Construction Lawyers in the United States serving 6,000 members and associates.  The Government Construction Division is one of 13 Divisions and was formed to provide a forum for the study and discussion of legal issues inherent in federal, state and local construction contracting.

The Firm offers a unique blend of skilled attorneys and staff with professional degrees and experience in accounting, architecture, business management and engineering. Bill is also a civil engineer and his practice focuses on construction law, public contract law, and alternative dispute resolution. His extensive background in the construction field includes claim preparation, negotiation, and litigation/arbitration on behalf of construction industry clients.  His experience includes privately-owned projects; federal, state and local public projects, and hybrid developments such as public private partnership projects.  His clients span the construction industry and include owners and developers, general contractors, subcontractors, bonding companies and design professionals.  Bill also serves in leadership roles in many construction trade associations, including the Associated General Contractors, Hampton Roads Builders and Contractors Exchange, and the Design Build Institute of America.
