NORFOLK, VA. Vandeventer Black LLP is pleased to announce that Anita O. Poston has been named The Best Lawyers in America’s ® 2013 Norfolk Health Care Law “Lawyer of the Year.”
Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, and designates “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community receives the honor of “Lawyer of the Year.” Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2012) is based on more than 3.9 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by their peers.
Ms Poston concentrates her practice in Health Care, Business Law and Estate Planning. A partner in the firm, she co-chairs the Government Relations Committee and serves on the Practice Management Committee and as trustee of the law firm’s retirement plan. Ms Poston is past president of the Norfolk and Portsmouth and Virginia Bar Associations and is also a member of the Virginia State Bar, the American Bar Association and the Virginia Women Attorneys Association. She serves as a member of the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners, having been appointed by the Virginia Supreme Court in 1990. Ms Poston is the current chair of the board of Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital.
