Vandeventer Black LLP Awarded For Support of Virginia Food Banks

Richmond, VA. (August 13, 2014) –Gov. Terry McAuliffe recently presented Vandeventer Black LLP with The Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab Award for its participation in the 8th annual Legal Food Frenzy.  The firm earned first place at the 2014 Legal Food Frenzy Awards Reception held at the Executive Mansion, after raising 495 pounds per person. The Food Frenzy was held earlier this year and this is the fourth consecutive year Vandeventer Black LLP was awarded the top spot in the Large Law Firm (101+) Per Capita division.

Vandeventer Black raised $10,910 in 2014 surpassing contributions made in years prior (for the past two years, the firm raised about $8,400 each year). The firm also donated 35 pounds of non-perishable foods to the local food bank.

The Legal Food Frenzy, a collaboration involving the office of the Attorney General, the Young Lawyers Division of the Virginia Bar Association and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, is an annual competition in which Virginia law firms and legal departments compete to see who can raise the most food for the food banks in their local communities.  The two-week contest ran from March 31 – April 11, and was open to lawyers and their staff, as well as members of Virginia’s legal community.
