John received an A.B. from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from the University of Virginia. John is a member of the Virginia Maritime Association, The Maritime Law Association of the United States, and the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute. He currently serves as General Counsel to Virginia International Terminals, Inc., the company that operates the state’s four major maritime terminals in Norfolk, Portsmouth, Newport News and Front Royal.
