Chris is a partner with Vandeventer Black and concentrates his law practice in business matters, commercial real estate and commercial transactions. Chris represents clients in commercial real estate transactions involving the acquisition, development, financing, sale, and leasing of commercial property, including shopping centers, office buildings, mixed use projects, and residential developments. He advises and assists business and governmental clients in organizational, transactional and corporate matters, including negotiation, preparation and review of contracts, operating and shareholder agreements, and other corporate documents, financing arrangements and regulatory compliance. Chris also advises businesses on employment-related matters.
Chris received a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from The College of William & Mary School of Law, where he was admitted to the Order of the Coif and was a member of the Law Review.
Chris is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate. Chris is a member of the Board of the Hampton Roads Technology Council and serves as its legal counsel. He also acts as an Attorney Advisor for the Virginia Bar Association / YMCA Model Judiciary Program.
Chris is admitted to practice in all Virginia state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
