Allison is an attorney with Vandeventer Black and concentrates her practice in civil litigation and eminent domain and land use.
Her civil litigation practice focuses on a wide variety of business and land use matters. Allison’s eminent domain and property rights practice centers on assisting electric cooperatives and other utilities acquire rights-of-way and otherwise obtaining land for public projects. She also represents landowners faced with condemnation by State DOT projects.
Allison earned a B.S.B.A. in Marketing from Georgetown University and a J.D. from University of North Carolina School of Law (with honors), where she served as symposium editor and executive board member of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology, as research assistant to Professor Thomas L. Hazen, and as a member of the 2004 Joint Journal Competition Committee and the Holderness Moot Court Negotiation Team. She is also a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
Allison worked as a summer associate with a North Carolina law firm on a variety of projects ranging from securities regulation and banking and insurance regulation to government contracts and general litigation. She also served as summer research fellow for the University of North Carolina Center for Civil Rights. Prior to law school, Allison used her marketing background on the sales force for the Association for Financial Professionals.
Allison is admitted to practice in all North Carolina state courts. She is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Allison is a member of the North Carolina and American Bar Associations.
