Bryant is a partner with Vandeventer Black and concentrates his law practice in real estate development and finance, and commercial transactions.
Bryant has 19 years of experience in commercial and real estate transactions and a substantial litigation background. He has experience in the acquisition, development, construction, leasing and financing of residential, commercial, industrial, waterfront industrial real property, as well as shopping centers, power centers, life-style centers, office buildings, and office parks. He also has experience in applicable tax strategies.
Bryant has substantial experience in corporate and asset based transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, operating and shareholder agreements, and bank and venture capital financing. He also has substantial experience in financing of government contracts.
Bryant has substantial experience in marine-related transactions and law, including terminal agreements, chassis pools, and riparian rights issues.
Bryant’s creditor’s rights experience includes representation of both debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases, loan workouts, and oversight of state and federal court litigation.
Bryant received a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and a J.D. from the University of Virginia.
Bryant is a member of the Norfolk and Portsmouth, Virginia, and American Bar Associations (Real Estate Section), as well as the Virginia State Bar (Bankruptcy and Real Property Sections), and the Tidewater Bankruptcy Bar Association.
Bryant is past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hampton Roads Better Business Bureau and Director of the Business and Consumer Foundation’s Dispute Settlement Center. He was selected as one of Virginia Business’ “Virginia Legal Elite” in 2005 in the field of Business Law.
