Mission Statement
Vandeventer Black recognizes the importance of helping and strengthening the communities in which we live and work. Vandeventer Black donates resources and time to many worthy causes. We believe volunteer work is an asset to our firm which enriches our lives and strengthens our community. Some of the events in which Vandeventer Black is involved include:

Vandeventer Black honors activities and volunteerism that enhance and positively impact our communities, and we actively support and encourage the involvement of our personnel in the community. Our Vandeventer Black Gives Back program helps organize the time, talents and efforts of our law firm’s personnel to help us enrich their lives and strengthen our communities.
We have been recognized for our community involvement, and those honors include the Governor’s Award for Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia.
2012 Events
February 4, 2012: Polar Plunge
The Polar Plunge® Winter Festival is Special Olympics Virginia’s largest fundraiser, attracting more than 10,000 people to an otherwise deserted beachfront in February. Individuals and teams experience heartwarming and bone chilling extremes as they take the plunge into the icy Atlantic Ocean in the height of winter!
