Vandeventer Black’s Professional Liability Defense for Design Professionals team is experienced in defending architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors in project design and construction matters of all types. We represent design professionals in disputes over errors and omissions in design and construction administration, trade defamation, copyright and trademark infringement, fraud, breach of contract and fee disputes. We are also skilled with litigating allegations of failure to meet the applicable standards of practice.
Our clients range from solo practitioners and small architecture and engineering firms to large national and international firms. We are experienced in investigating, negotiating, counseling and defending all types of professional liability claims, from the most hazardous to the most benign. In addition, we are prepared to address claims alleging pollution, asbestos and other environmental hazards as well as terrorism, as they relate to design. Our team is seasoned in all aspects of construction law and litigation in state and federal courts and in arbitration. Several of our attorneys are engineers and have field experience.
Our attorneys are panel counsel for architect and engineering professional liability insurance carriers, and routinely consult with and advise the insurance industry on issues ranging from coverage to risk reduction.
