Anita O. Poston Named To Oversight Board For Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital

NORFOLK, VA

Paul Fraim, City of Norfolk Mayor, recently announced the appointment of Anita O. Poston to the Hospital Authority of Norfolk, the public oversight body that governs Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital operations.

Exercising ultimate authority over Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital, Ms. Poston and fellow board members will work in cooperation with hospital leadership and administration to set forth policies.

“Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital is one of the most important assets in our community,” said Ms. Poston. “I am looking forward to learning what contributions I can make to help Lake Taylor grow and prosper.”

Specializing in business and estate planning as well as health law, Ms. Poston has been a partner with Vandeventer Black LLP for nearly twenty-five years. She is an American Bar Association Fellow as well as Virginia Law Foundation Fellow. Since 1990, Ms. Poston continues to serve on the State Board of Bar Examiners as well as the Norfolk Law Library Board.

Ms. Poston holds a Juris Doctor Degree from the College of William and Mary and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland.

About the Hospital Authority of Norfolk

The Hospital Authority of Norfolk Board, formed in 1988, is comprised of 11 community leaders, appointed by Norfolk City Council on a voluntary basis, to serve six-year terms. Despite countless hours of dedicated service, the Commission members receive no form of compensation for their role or hours of voluntary service.

The leadership of the Authority is determined through the annual nomination and election of officers. Members of the Board nominate and elect members to serve in the capacity of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary.

About Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital

Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital, established in 1890 by the City of Norfolk, provides comprehensive sub-acute hospital care and skilled nursing care following an acute illness or surgical event. The hospital focuses on transitioning patients through rehabilitative and restorative care toward their eventual return home.
